DACA, TPS And Asylum: When Extenuating Circumstances Apply
If your country of origin is no longer safe or if you arrived without documentation in the United States as a child, there are systems in place to help you maintain your safety and way of life.
My name is Ifeoma Ezejie, and I care deeply about New Jersey’s immigrant communities. As an immigrant myself, I understand that immigration is a life-altering decision. You deserve every opportunity to build the life you dream of.
Ensuring The Law Protects The Vulnerable
Typical immigration proceedings may not work for you, and that is okay. I regularly assist individuals across Elizabeth and the surrounding area pursuing:
- Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status: You may qualify for DACA status if your parents bring you to the United States as a child without appropriate documentation, you have no criminal record and you can demonstrate your good standing in the community.
- Temporary Protected Status (TPS): If your home country is currently unsafe due to armed conflict or natural disaster, you may be able to stay in the United States with TPS.
- Asylum: If you are fleeing your own government due to political or personal persecution, asylum offers you protection.
Many people require extra consideration from the immigration process for a variety of reasons. I can help you navigate the process, documentation and legal challenges so that you can move forward in your life, safely and securely.
